Swedish photographer Göran Liljeberg is renowned for his striking macro photographs. Reminiscent of Victorian nature illustrations, Liljeberg captures the profound detail and colour of the unusual bugs and butterflies he photographs.
"Liljebergs is a collection of images based on my photos of insects. Behind my images are a great passion for butterflies and other insects and many years of dedication to photography.
The insects that are used are mostly borrowed from the Swedish Museum of Natural History in Stockholm, from my entomology friends who are collectors and some of the insects are from my own collection"
"Macro photography of small insects in large magnification has become my specialty. The goal is to show nature as it looks,
with the detail, sharpness and color gamut required."
Everything is photographed in Göran's own studio and
printed from highend 11-color inkjet printers.
The images are printed on a matte 200 gram quality paper with pigment inks of the highest quality with a very long life span. This is not Offset printing and mass production, but with a more complex technique that gets a more exclusive and detailed result.
Many of the photos have been used as illustrations in a variety of books but are now mainly used as art in home and public decor.
